MX212 Problems

Post by coolmody »

I think there may be something wrong with my MX212. When I plug it into the USB port, the unit turns on with every character being filled completely (full box).

If I try unplugging it and plugging it back in the same things happens. This doesn't change whether the computer is booting up the BIOS or when the unit is in windows. LCDC also cannot auto detect the device.

In windows device manager the unit is there and is stated as fully working. It also states that its on COM3.

Please help :(

Can you test out the following commands like turning off and on the backlight, and adjusting the contrast? I want to know if you can still communicate with your display.

Are you using an internal or external USB connector??

I can't do any of those commands because LCDC doesn't even auto detect the device anymore. I basically can't communicate with the device anymore.

I am using the external USB connector.

From what I remember, upon startup of the screen it usually reads Matrix Orbital MX-212 along both lines. Right now it looks like its at 100% contrast or brightness, but as I said earlier, I can't communicate with the device to change it.
