Text stills backwards
Text stills backwards
Hi
my MX532 displays the text backwards even it is not connected via USB to the PC. Already the power on message is wrong!
If I connect the MX532 to the PC and then send a "test" command (via LCDC) to the display, for instance "cursor home" the next character appears on the top-right position of the display. (Hey I am in Europe!)
I've installed the latest software (usb driver V1.4, LCDC V1.06.30) and I am using Windows XP. The devices are recognized and working properly... says the windows device manager!
I've read the threat "Text Backwards..." from Usurper but there are no further suggestions which could help me.
So please give me hope to get the MX532 working right.
Thanks a lot for your hints!

Hi,
since I booted my PC today the display works fine - even though I did not made any changes - the malfunction reported yesterday disappeared.
I have no explanation where the error (in the cursor control) came from - perhaps a driver problem in the beginning ... anyway, I'm happy now with this great device.

Try uninstalling the driver and reinstalling the drivers. Also remove the registry entries, and start all over. The error is software related since the display doesn't have the intelligence to reverse the letters like that.
The registry entries can be found at http://www.lcdforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1016 .
Hopefully that works for you.
Best Regards,

Hi,
thanks a lot for your hints but probably it wouldn'd help. The text (welcome message) is already dislayed backwards without the USB connection. The display is actually "standalone" just using the PC power!
I noticed that if the welcome message is backwards all the data comming from LCDC or any other program is backwards too and vice versa.
Any idea?
Other question is: which driver relase should I use 1.1 or 1.4 ?

Hi,
The startup screen originally sends the data via software. The startup screen will then store it in the memory. If the software had something wrong with it in the first place, it will send something wrong. When you power up the display, it will be displaying the wrong text that was stored in memory.
You should use the driver version 1.4.
Have you tried reinstalling the drivers, then reprogramming the display?

Hello Tom,
after reinstalling the driver (v1.4), reprogramming the display's startup screen and several days of working correctly the display today shows the same problem as reported (text starts at right position and goes to left). No other software was changed (install/removed) meanwhile.
What can I do? Please help!
