Installed latest usb driver now LCDC no longer works??

Post by gizmo1990 »

I've just installed the latest USB driver for my VK202-24-USB and though its lights up ok, LCDC no longer seems to work with it?

I've gone through LCDC's auto detect and whereas previously the vfd ran off com3 LCDC now only checks com1 and com2 which it can't detact anything on? :-?

How do I find out what com my vfd is now on and how can I get LCDC to recognise this new com port?

Please help!

I've just checked my device manager and it appears that theres a exclamation mark over my vfd on com3?

The device status reads:
Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Whats going on!? :-? :-?

Hi gizmo1990,

Can you try uninstalling everything, even the registry entries and reinstalling the drivers? The location of the registry entries are found at http://www.matrixorbital.ca/drivers/erros

Let me know how it works out.

Hi Tom thanks for the reply.

I did do that the first time around however I'll give it a go again.

Could you explain step by step the proceedure I should use to uninstall everything? The way I did it the first time was to select the vfd in the device manager and choose uninstall. Then I deleted those enteries in the registry.

Is there another way I should have done it or is there anything else I should be doing?

Those steps you performed would be the sam exact steps I would go through. Also what happens when you plug an unmodified floppy power cable, then you plug in the usb cable?
