Reading Graphics card temp etc

Hi all

I had a quick search in these forums but was unable to find anything to help me.

Im new to all this and I have just figured out I can use ati tool to monitor my gpu temps! however, most of the time it just tells me the temp is 255c and sometimes 65c! Is this a known glitch or do i need to do something.

Also Id like to be able to view my graphics card core/memory speeds.....is there a way to do this

system spec

MX222-asus p4p-vm-hercules 9800xt

I downloaded and installed http://www.plasticrandom.net/plugins.ph ... gin&pid=38.....there is another ati tool on that site to for reading AI cards but it was doing nothing for me.
