partially dead screen?

Post by gumert »

I recently purchased a MX630 from frozencpu.com but didn't have a chance to install it until today. The physically installation went smoothly and the driver install was also painless. However, as soon as my screen started to display text I noticed that something was wrong.

I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. It should be noted that while the right side of the screen is brighter than the left side the difference is not as drastic as the pictures make it out to be (ie there's no bloom effect on the right side of the screen when looking at it in person).

This is the initial screen that LCDC displayed after I installed everything.

I went to the test display feature in LCDC and flooded the screen with solid 8's to show the extent of the problem.

Incidently, your images are dead in the LCDC guide thread

Any and all help is more than appreciated.

Hello gumert,

Thanks for your post.

I see that you are also in our ticket system. This kind of problem is very common for the PLED's, hence they have been discontinued.

I will get someone to contact you shortly.

Thanks,

Thanks for the update. I was wondering why it was so hard to find an online store with one in stock... :p

I will be sure to stay on top of checking my e-mail.
