I have an LK204-25, not the pc version. I use it as a remote control for winamp and it is not in the same room as the computer. I only turn the display on when I am using it so I want to know whether there is any way to detect whether the display is powered up? Does the LCD send anything down the serial cable as it is powered up or will it send a reply in response to a request from the serial line?

Cheers

Yeah see something like http://www.matrixorbital.com/manuals/lk20425/index.htm section 6.1.11

If you send a request for it's module type and it doesn't reply then it must be off!

r.

Thanks TheCheeseMan, I think the manual has changed since I bought mine as I didn't think the LK204-25 would let you do that!.
