Im just curious abot something really... I have a VK204-25-V.

I want to power it by the serial cable like i have seen some people doing on their projects (unfortunatly they did not put their email in their profile so i have no way to contact them).

Can anyone either :-
1) give me a link to a url which shows How to modify a cable to do this?
2) a explanation on how to do it?
3) anything they know about doing this?

Have a look at the manual, section 2.1.2 and figure 2.7 should do the trick for you.

The same procedure is applied as if it were a 5 Volt unit. But be very careful to only apply 5 Volts via DB9 because the voltage does not pass through the voltage regulator. (MUST NOT USE 12 VOLTS!)
