GLK12232-25 - Cannot Change Speed

Hi;

I bought a GLK12232-25 (No Suffix !) some time ago and have just starting using it. The rev: on the board is 2.0, the serial number is 200010-0015. The device is setup as 240 x 64 Rev> 0 using MOGD.

I am interfacing to a PIC Micro and simply cannot get the GLK to change speed to 9600 (the max speed for the PIC) and remember the speed when it is switched off and on again !

Yes I have reset the device by shorting the pins R1 & C5 together hudreds of times. I have tried not removing the jumper and switching off as well as numerous other combinations. I have also followed the standard reset procedure given in the manual and online numerous times, I did not send any text before changing the speed either. I have also wiped module file system many times too !

I have tried changing the speed using MOGD as well as the dedicated speed program downloaded fromn the web. I can change the speed but after power down the speed reverts to 19200 !

I have blasted the display with clear screens as suggested by other users.

I somehow managed to change the speed once and it remembered, purely by chance but it somehow got reset and now it will not change again !

I also cannot display all of the casus image, it only ever draws the top half, using the draw image calculated but the direct write does not work at all.

I live in Singapore and to return this back to the USA for repair or replacement is going to take months and cost $$$ - can someone please help me !

Well that's one mistake at least - should be 122x32 (hence the name!), though that's not the source of all your troubles

I never tried to run my display at less than 19200 so I can't really help,

Well spotted, but unfortunatly as you suspected, changing this makes no difference !

Through my experience with these units, I have seen the "odd" memory chip be faulty. It sounds like this may be the problem. To discuss this situation further please contact me at myero@matrixorbital.com
