OK, this has been asked, and I think it's time to chat about a water cooling temp probe... lets talk!

You can buy "T" fittings that are threaded on the inside. I would think that a T with 1/4" NPT threads on the inside of all three ends would be best. That way people can use either 3/8" or 1/2" barbs depending upon their cooling system. You'll have to come up with a way to tighten down the temp probe on the top, but once it's done this would allow people to replace temp probes in the event of a problem.
Another idea (that I have done with the DOW probes) is to just epoxy them to the outside of copper pipe that's in the loop and then insulate that piece of copper well. The water temp should be pretty close to the pipe temp in that scenario.
The first solution is more complicated and involves putting the probe in water (uh oh if the waterproofing fails). The second one isn't very satisfying.
Right now I just have a cheapo 1/2" nylon "T" connector that I used Plumber's Goop to hold a DOW sensor in. It works fine but doesn't look very professional at all.

I have problems telling you the right measurements.
I have an Innovatek watercooled system and plan to buy the Matrix Orbital MX2 (or better: I already ordered it, did not receive it yet, but now I have to consider if I send it back or use it).
In my system there are NO FANS !
The only fan I have is on the so called "radiator" (if this is not existing in english language: this is the device that cooles the water by giving the heat to the environment). On the radiator I have a 120mm fan.

I want to get rid of this panel (it is bullshit and always beeps the alarm sond, although the fan is NOT DAMAGED (is working).
I want to replace it with the Matrix Orbital MX2.
The following picture shows the radiator, the fan an on the radiator the inline temp sensor (temp probe):

A good friend of mine uses the Matrix Orbital MX2 and he told me that I can use it for things like:
if (watertemp on themp probe < 30) then fan1.speed := 0;
if (watertemp on themp probe > 30) then fan1.speed := 1;
if (watertemp on themp probe > 32) then fan1.speed := 2;
and so on
I want to use the panel, because it can be programmed totally free (as my friend told me).
But the main purpose for me would be to read the water temp directly from the water (inline temp probe) and to control my fans with that.
The temp probe from Innovatek has only 2 connector pins (Details see topic http://www.lcdforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1621 in this forum).
My problem is now, that I do not see your temp sensor.
I do not see the connections (the emglish measurements).
I only have the GERMAN measurements.
The connectors are 0,32" * 0,39" (8mm inside, 10mm outside).
What size is your connectors of your inline temp probe ?
Does it check the water temp of a water-cooled-system inside (the temp of the water) ?????

That's a thermistor. Matrix Orbital uses Dallas One Wire probes. It won't work.

If there was something like that available from MO, I'd definately buy one! I'm even thinking of making one myself, I've got a couple T-Fittings I can play with. Just not sure what to seal it with while trying not to impede on waterflow.
I'm wondering, are the Dallas One Wire probes waterproof? Or do they need to be sealed someway? Seems adding another material between the water and the probe will change the temp reading though. Would it be possible just to seal the wire connections and have the probe itself in the water?

Ive tried this and it functions quite well, but my probes seem to be reading wrong temps so i cant confirm accuracy. wich i now think is dead. i came up with an alternative solution that works for me but will proboly not work for everyone.
had had a 2 wire thermal probe, and it plugged into my mother board.
I used that and have it sitting in my resevoir. and it seems to give me acurate temperatures.. At least acurate enough for me.
All I now use my 3wire temperature probe for is for getting my input air temperature.
I regulate my fan speed from my CPU temparture.
