Cannot get my MX2 to work :(

Post by scoobie dave »

Just installed my MX2, but I cant get it to work. I have definately got the drivers installed, but when I use LCDC and run the auto setup I get a message saying that 'com4 port is in use, unable to access'
How can I get this to work? Does antivirus software stop it from working or anything? Im using SP2 also with all the latest updates.
I have a install of XP on my other hard drive with just SP1 on it and nothing else, and I installed the drivers etc on and it works fine, LCDC detects the screen no problems.
What can be the problem?

Please help! :-?

Can you try uninstalling and installing all your matrixorbital drivers from windows and from the registry. The link on how to uninstall the drivers from the registry is below. There isn't a problem with sp2 because I use that with my mx2 at home, and it works fine. Give this a try first and let me know how it turns out.

Do you have any other program accessing the com port at the same time?

Did you try manually setting the com port instead of using the autodetect?

Failed to connect to COM4

Did you try testing the display with another software program? Try using uproject, it should be in the ecd that came with your display. If you cannot find uproject, email me at support@matrixorbital.com, and I will send you a copy of uproject. I want to determine if the problem is LCDC.
