VK202-24-USB

Post by kylus »

Hi,

I'm interested in obtaining a VFD for a PVR (MythTV) project I'm trying to complete. I saw the thread at http://www.lcdforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1050 regarding Linux support for the LK202-24-USB device and I was wondering if the same setup can be used for the VFD? Are they similar? Has anyone else had success using one in a Linux box?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Kylus,

Thank you for posting at the forums. The setup for the LK202-24-USB will be the exact same for the VFD version. The two units have almost the exact same functionallity. The major differences between the two is the display type and the price of the displays.

You can also refer to http://lcdproc.omnipotent.net/?continue=yes for using the display with a linux box.

If you have anymore questions or concerns, please feel free to post.

:D

Good luck with your project. If you have any pictures, you can also post them on our gallery.

Best Regards,

Hi again Tom,

I bought a blue filter for this unit and I was wondering what the material was made of for the filters? I'd like to try and mount it in a 5.25 to 3.5 inch adapter but the stock blue filter for this unit is just a bit too small length-wise to fill the gap. Does MO order these pre-cut somewhere or is it material I can pick up and cut to size somewhere else?

Thanks!
