4x20 RED USB vfd/lcd modul height below 5 cm

Hallo,

I am looking for a Display that can be connected to USB Port. I need a Display Sice of 4x20 and want it to be Red.

First question: As i want to use it in my car. Is vfd better with some filters to make it red? or should i use a lcd?

It needs to fit into some radio slot, which is about 5,5 cm in height. so as all your display-modules with 4x20 are around 6 cm, what can i do?

i have a HD44780 compatible coontroler. is it possible to get abare display to use with that?
this display looks great: LK204-24-USB-R

Hello, your decision between the LCD or VFD displays will depend on your applicaton and/or personal preference. The VFD (vacuum Florecent) will have a much different look because of the technology used (better viewing angle, extended temp range etc.) compared to the LCD.

I do not have a suggestion/solution for your size constraint(5,5cm)....

Our display are HD44780 compatible but we only sell the serial interface board with display (packaged as one).

I know that it is difficult.
The Display is to be used in a car.
VFD is more brilliant in that situtaton but lcd is still ok. first of all it has to fit.
i found the following manufacturer http://www.fordata.cn/ who has a display that might fit, only that i don't know where to get them.

do you have any ideas, or possibly ways to get one?
